INSURANCE DO'S aND DONT'S

DO stay calm. Determine the extent of the damages or injuries. If someone is injured, call for immediate medical attention.

DO file a car accident report with the police.

DO NOT leave the scene of an accident until the police fle a complete report. Be sure to get the report number before the officer leaves.

DO get names, numbers and addresses of everyone involved in the accident and anyone who witnessed the accident. Car and license plate numbers are good to write down, too.

DO get the insurance card information from the driver!

DO draw a diagram of the accident.

DO see your personal physician or a recommended specialist if you think you might be hurt.

DO NOT accept a settlement offer at the scene of the accident.

DO NOT argue or admit guilt.
